Scholarships & Tuition Assistance 2011-2012
The Columbus Catholic School system offers thousands of dollars in scholarships and tuition assistance each year. Scholarship Opportunities exist at each level of education. Below are the scholarships available to our students along with general information. Applications are available in the main office of Columbus Catholic High School.
Please note deadlines-no scholarship applications will be accepted after the stated deadline.

COACH WALT KROLL SCHOLARSHIP – Requirements: demonstrates fine athletic and academic ability. Essay on pre-determined topic. Eligible applicants: Students entering grades 9-12.

FATHER PAUL LAUZON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – Requirements: Essay on pre-determined topic. Eligible applicants: Students entering grades 9-12.

JIMMY EDWARDS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – Requirements: Participant in a Columbus Catholic High School sport. Essay on pre-determined topic. Eligible applicant: Student entering grades 9-12.

KEITH BINDER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – Requirements: students interested in the field of technical education. Essay on pre-determined topic. Eligible applicant: Students entering grades 9-12. Scholarship value: $100.00. Deadline: March 21, 2011.Keith Binder Memorial Scholarship _3_
MELISSA ELDERBROOK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – Requirements: genuine love for instrumental music. Essay on pre-determined topic. Eligible applicant: Band student entering grades 10,11,12.

BISHOP’S SCHOLARSHIP – Requirements: recommendation and nomination from principal.
Eligible applicant: All current CCMS 8th grade students.

HEINZEN-WUNROW NEW FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP- Requirements: A desire for a Catholic education. Financial need considered.
Eligible applicant: New family enrolled for the first time in the Columbus Catholic School system for the 2011-12 school year.

Henryette McGivern Memorial Scholarship- Requirements: Student is a member of St. John the Baptist Parish. Eligible applicant: Student must be entering first or second grade in the Columbus Catholic School system.

COLUMBUS CATHOLIC SCHOOL TUITION ASSISTANCE – Requirements: The FACTS tuition assistance application must be completed. Forms can be obtained in the Central Office at Columbus Catholic High School or the elementary school offices. Deadline: May 2, 2011.
MELVIN HINTZ MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP from the Marshfield Area Community Foundation Requirements: Determined through FACTS Tuition Assistance application, grades 9-12

MEURET – MARTINO TUITION SCHOLARSHIP – Requirements: Student attending MACS grade 5K-12. Family is registered active, participating member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, must have applied for FACTS tuition assistance, and parents must commit to 5 hours of service at both Alpine and Galleon fundraisers.
Scholarship Value: 4 at $250.00 each (applications can be made for each student in a family attending MACS)

Requirements: Student is a member of St. John the Baptist Parish. Eligible applicant: student entering Kindergarten.

STEVENS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP FOR MUSIC – Requirements: Student enrolled in third year of study in the music program at Columbus Catholic, outstanding academic performance, and participation in Solo Ensemble. Eligible applicant: Junior year status. Financial need considered.

STEVENS ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP FOR ATHLETICS – Requirements: Student participating in their third year of athletics and have earned a varsity letter at Columbus Catholic. Outstanding academic performance. Exhibit exemplary sportsmanlike conduct. Eligible applicant: Junior year status. Financial need considered.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS (4th degree) SIR KNIGHT HERBERT WEIGEL FUND SCHOLARSHIP Eligible applicant: Students entering grades 6 – 12.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS – Requirements: Father or Grandfather must be a K.C. Member.
Eligible applicant: students entering grades 7-12.
Scholarship value: based on financial need.

CATHOLIC Financial Life – Requirements: Student must be a member of the Catholic Financial Life and meet other requirements as stated on application.
Eligible applicant: Students entering grades 1 – 8. Scholarship value: $200.00
Eligible applicant: Students entering grades 9-12 Scholarship value: $500.00

CATHOLIC ORDER OF FORESTERS – Requirements: Parent is member of Organization.

FELKER BROS. – Requirements: Parent employed at Felker Bros. Eligible applicant: Students entering grades 9-12.

YOUTH FOOTBALL/CHEER SQUAD SCHOLARSHIP – Requirements: student must have participated in at least one full season of Columbus Dons Youth Football or Cheer, the student must have a minimum of 3.0 (B) average during their 8th grade year and the student must have participated in a minimum of 2 extra-curricular activities every year of their 6th , 7th and 8th grade year aside from youth football & cheer.
